Using the site

You may use these tools for personal, educational or commercial purposes at no cost. You do not need permission to use a timer at work, in a classroom, in a gym or during a livestream, and you do not need to credit us.

What you may not do:

• Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, frame or republish the site in a way that presents it as your own product.
• Interfere with or attempt to circumvent the advertising that funds the site.
• Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes someone else’s rights.

No warranty

The tools are provided "as is". We work hard to keep the timing accurate and the site available, but we cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or correct on every device and browser combination in existence.

Please do not rely on this site as the sole safeguard for anything where a missed alert would be dangerous or costly — medical dosing, laboratory procedures, competitive or officially timed events, industrial processes, or anything with a safety implication. Use purpose-built, certified equipment for those. Browsers throttle background tabs, devices go to sleep, and audio can be muted at the operating system level, all outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site — including missed deadlines, spoiled food, lost work or lost data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your data

Timer history and preferences are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. We do not back them up and we cannot recover them for you — if you clear your browser data, they are gone. How we handle information more generally is described in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

Advertising and third parties

This site displays advertising served by Google and its partners. We do not control which specific ads appear and we do not endorse the products in them. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser.

Intellectual property

The design, text and code of this site belong to us. You are welcome to link to any page freely. Copying substantial parts of the site to build a competing product is not permitted.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site develops. The revision date at the top of this page reflects the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
